30 Favorite Fiction Books for Upper Elementary Students

Looking back at the end of each school year, I am always amazed at how many good books we’ve read, listened to and enjoyed ~ books that have helped shape our homeschool and my boy’s childhoods.

My oldest, in 3rd grade this year, is a voracious reader. It’s been quite the feat to keep up with his appetite for books, but thanks to the internet and other mamas on Instagram, I’ve been collecting a hefty stack of both classics and newer fiction.

This list of 30 of our favorite fiction books includes classics (like The Secret Garden), adventure stories (like The Green Ember and Dragons in a Bag), and beloved nature-inspired reads (like My Side of the Mountain and The Sign of the Beaver).

So if you’re looking for some new book recommendations for your little reader, save this list ~ I hope it can be helpful!
